Upstream of the sector, and through its sustainable development program, the CÉMOI Group is committed through traceability and food safety to guarantee the quality of its products. The CÉMOI quality system respects the products at each stage of the chain.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LABELS AT THE SERVICE OF QUALITY

All production sites, laboratories and storage areas comply with strict rules in terms of food safety and are certified according to food industry standards HACCP and IFS.

HACCP : Sanitary control plan or SCP is a set of preventive and self-monitoring measures aimed at maintaining food hygiene. It is a tool allowing the control of the environment of the food production chain to guarantee the safety of the products.

IFS : International Featured Standard is an audit reference created in 2003, which certifies private labels food suppliers. It is based on the ISO 9001 standard and the HACCP system.

IFS FOOD

The IFS Food is a private repository recognized worldwide, certifying that the company sets up and respects appropriate processes to guarantee the safety (Food Safety) and security (Food Fraud & Food Defense) that apply to all stages of food processing. An annual audit carried out by an independent and accredited organization is necessary to be certified. This standard is recognized by the GFSI*, which the requirements are now required by the majority of international retail players.

IFS LOGISTICS

The IFS Logistics is a private repository attesting that the certified company implements and respects appropriate processes to ensure transparency and trust throughout the supply chain: transport, storage, distribution of products regardless of their state (frozen, refrigerated, stable at room temperature, liquid, solid, gaz, etc.) An annual audit carried out by an independent and accredited organization is necessary to be certified.

EUROPEAN LABEL OF

ORGANIC FARMING

The sale of a product under the “bio” label guarantees that the ingredients that composes the product come from Organic Farming and that it has been manufactured, processed, stored and distributed in compliance specifications defined by the European Union. This European regulations are a guarantee of transparency and quality (respect of the environment, animal welfare, biodiversity, ect.) and is checked annually by each operator in the production chain by an accredited and independant organization.

HALAL CERTIFICATION

The sale of a product under the Halal certification by the HFCE* guarantees that its manufacture meets all requirements for slaughterhouses, to the various food products, ingredients and other derivative products. Halal certification ensures approval of a product by an independant and official islamic organization, and it also allows export to Muslim countries where halal quality is a regulatory requirement. Halal certification is audited annually by a private organization such as the HFCE.

KOSHER CERTIFICATION

The sale of a product with the OU* label (Kosher certified) guarantees that its manufacture meets all the requirements of the way of life advocated by Judaism. Kosher certification ensures approval of a product by an independant and official rabbinical agency after verifications that the ingredients, derivatives, tools and machines have no trace of non Kosher substance or usage. The Kosher certification is audited annually by a private organization such as the Orthodox Union.

CERTIFICATIONS DEDICATED TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT  :

Products with this label come from or contain ingredients from Rainforest Alliance certified farms or forestry. These farms are managed according to rigorous environmental, social and economic criteria which aim to: conserve wild species, preserve soils and waterways, protect workers, their families and local populations, and improve their livelihoods. Rainsforest Alliance is audited annually by an independent and accredited organization.

FAIR TRADE – MAX HAVELAAR

Products with Fairtrade label are grown and sold according to the standards from the NGO Fairtrade International. These standards include minimum environmental, social and economic requirements,  to ensure sustainable development of producer’s organizations in developing and emerging countries. All actors in the chain value creation (farmers, producers, plantations and companies) undertake to comply with these requirements and are checked on a regular basis by the independent Flocert organization.

RSPO

The sale of a product under the label RSPO* certifies that the company that manufactures it is committed to sourcing a palm oil meeting specific criteria of sustainability defined by the international NGO RSPO. The objective is to guarantee the traceability of sustainable palm oil until its final consumption. RSPO certification is audited annually by an independant and accredited organization. FAIR FOR LIFE

The sale of a product under the fair for Life label guarantees that its manufacture has been carried out in compliance with reference standards in terms of fair trade, sustainable agriculture and CSR*. The FFL is based, among other things, on international fair trade definitions, on ILO* conventions and the social criteria of IFOAM*. Actors in the supply chain having chosen to implement these good environmental, social and economic pratices are checked annually by an independant and accredited organization.
