The CEMOI Group has 14 production sites, including 5 abroad, with different technologies some of which are at the forefront of innovation. Our dedicated teams are committed to producing all our ranges of chocolate and confectionery products under optimal safety, quality and cost conditions. These professions offer a variety of career paths: “field” positions, expert assignments, management experience… Production Manager, Operations Manager, Team Manager, Packaging Manager, Continuous Improvement Engineer, Maintenance Manager, Methods Maintenance Technician… Some of our employees have agreed to talk about their job and their experience:

Norbert BRASSELET

DIRECTOR, CHAMBÉRY SITE
The first quality is to be a real manager, that is to say to accompany the men, to follow the men and to be interested in the field, it is very important. These are essential elements to carry out the safety, quality and productivity of the site.

Our biggest environmental projects are in relation to the cold where we have invested 2 million euros to reduce emissions and energy consumption. We have worked on everything related to wastewater discharges. With all the investments in place, we have excellent results that will reduce expenses by 20% to 30%.

The main challenges ahead are to allow men to be trained, to evolve to lead, manage and support the production lines. It is also the optimization of lines that are quite old. In 2019, we worked on the distribution of products and this year invested in two robots to act on safety and arduousness.

Chantal REGNAULT

MACHINE OPERATOR, CHAMBÉRY SITE
I have been a machine operator at Cémoi for 28 years. I started as a provider on a folding machine and I immediatly went to a machine operator training. My job includes managing my machine, sourcing it and checking quality compliance. I work in the packaging sector on folding machines, I fold chocolates, fruits paste, Malakoff and confectionery.

I have been an internal trainer for about 10 years and train new drivers and accompany them until their diploma. It is very rewarding, when they succeed you are very proud.

My greatest pride in my job is to progress, to drive other machines and to train staff. You never get bored as a machine operator.

DRIVER, BOURBOURG SITE

Céline PAYEN

LEAD DRIVER, VILLENEUVE D’ASCQ SITE
First, my job involves a protocol for cleaning and desinfection of my equipment, I am above all there to guarantee the food safety of the customer and the consumer. Then, I simply follow the process sheets to follow a pre-established recipe and depending on what I am asked to do, I prepare my recipes and I shape the naked marshmallow interior wirthout its coating. The aspect of my job that I enjoy the most is making an almost perfect product, that is my main goal.

This job requires training. I trained with my predecessor for a year, first following him, then as a driver and then as a lead driver. It remains machine mechanics, you have to be able to understand it before handling it.

Regarding the field of ergonomics and safety, many things are in place. I am myself the only woman lead driver, it was necessary to adapt the working conditions precisely to avoid the slightest accident.
